Different Quality system | 10 points system | 4 points system | Dallas system AQL (means Acceptable Quality Limits/ Level)

10 points system: In 1955 10 points system piece goods evaluation was approved by the textile distributors and textile federation of textiles. This system assigns penalty point to each defect.

The 10 points system classifies defects as follows:

Example:



4 points system: It is widely used in textiles. It is simple and easy to understand. Inspection is done about 10% of the product in the shipment. This system is approved by AAMA (American Apparel Manufacturing Association).

The 4 points system classifies defects as follows:


A maximum 4 point is charged for one linear yard.

Dallas system: Dallas system published in 1970. That system was developed specifically for knits.


AQL (means Acceptable Quality Limits/ Level):  AOL means Acceptable Quality Limits/ Level. It is the allowable rejects% from the buyers which is agreed with the manufacturer. It was introduced according to American military rules of fabric inspection. 

There are generally 6 types of AQL. They are: 1%, 1.5%, 2.5%, 4%, 6.5%, and 10%. Among them 2.5%, 4%, 6.5%, and 10% are widely used and accepted according to price and type of garments.

The following AQLs are recommended unless otherwise instructed by the clients:
